So many times we go to God and ask Him to bless us. I will admit that many of my prayers in the past were full of nothing but "bless me." We ask God to bless our relationships, finances, jobs and so on. But what are we doing about it?
God bless my marriage, but, I am not going to make you the center of it. God bless my finances and help me pay my bills, but, I am not going to tithe regularly. God bless my children's attitudes, but, I am not going to show them a Godly example. God bless my friends lives, but, I am not going to witness to them. God bless my day, but, I am not going to spend time with You today. Do you get where this is going?
How dare we go to God and ask for His blessing and do nothing! We have no right to expect God to bless our finances if we are not tithing like Malachi 3:10 says. We have no right to expect God to change our children's attitudes if we have a bad attitude as well.
This is something I am working on with you. Each time we ask God to bless us, we need to make sure there are no 'buts' in the way.

Amen. All too often we pray the pray of 'buts!' What a wonderful reminder to take the 'buts' out of our prayers!
