Last night I stood at the sink washing my make up off, like every other night. Any woman who wears make up knows you have to wash it off at the end of the day. My daughter started wearing make up this year and I have been teaching her that she needs to wash her face every single night, even on those days she does not wear make up. We need to cleanse our face from not only the make up but any daily grim (sounds gross, huh?).
So as I stood there washing my face I got to thinking. Just like I have to daily cleanse my face, I need to daily cleanse my heart from the "grim" of this world. I need to repent of my sins. Yesterday I was singing old Bible songs with my kids and one of them was Oh Be Careful Little Eyes. We need to daily repent of what our eyes see, what our ears hear and what we do, say and even think. We need to ask God to wash that grim away, just like the soap washes away the make up.
I want to be used in mighty ways by God. But first I need to get rid of the dirt and grim in my life. I want to cleanse myself daily so God can use me.
This is really good, never thought of it that way, thank you for this!
