"As far as the east is from the west, so far He has removed our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:12
"Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be made white as snow. Though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool." Isaiah 1:18
Have you ever thrown out leftovers then hours later went back to the garbage to get them? No, of course not. Once we throw it out, we leave it there. It is nothing to us anymore.
However, some of us do have this habit with sin. We ask God to forgive us of something and try to turn our back from that sin and never do it again. Yet we hold onto the guilt and shame of that sin and we keep asking forgiveness.
Once we ask God to forgive us from our sins, we can live in freedom. Freedom from the guilt. Freedom from the shame. Freedom from having to constantly ask for forgiveness of that same thing. Take your sin to the cross and leave it there. Repent means to be sorry and turn your back away from. So when we repent of our sins we are telling God we are sorry and turning our back from that sin in the promise to not do it again. Once we repent, we can live in freedom.
Friends, take your burdens to the cross, repent, and leave them their. Have the freedom Christ offers.

I want that freedom! Jesus tells us that we are no longer slaves to sin, but our enemy wants to make us think we are. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom!

ReplyDeleteAmen sister, all too often I do this, we need to just let it go and move on after repenting.
