As I sat (or stood most of the time) I looked around. It was so neat to see Christians of different ages and backgrounds came together to worship our Savior. There were children (mine included) even little ones like my four year old nephew. There were teens, twenty-somethings, thirty-somethings, forty-somethings, fifty-somethings, sixty-somethings, seventy-somethings and even Michael Tait's sweet eighty-two year old mother. All ages. We all come from different home lives, different careers, different struggles, yet we all come with one purpose, to worship. Christian concerts are so great because yes, you are entertained, but you also worship and at Winter Jam (and many other Christian concerts) they share the message of the Gospel. It was such a beautiful thing.
As David Crowder Band was closing their set, they sang a wonder song that I haven't heard in a long time. But I wanted to share it with you today. Please take the time to really read the words and praise the Lord, we saw the Light!
I Saw The Light :
I’ve wandered so aimless, life filled with sin
I wouldn’t let my dear Savior in
Then Jesus came like a stranger in the night
Praise the Lord, I saw the light
I saw the light, I saw the light
I’ve wandered so aimless, life filled with sin
I wouldn’t let my dear Savior in
Then Jesus came like a stranger in the night
Praise the Lord, I saw the light
I saw the light, I saw the light
No more darkness, no more night
Now I’m so happy, no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord, I saw the light
I’ve walked in darkness, clouds covered me
I’ve walked in darkness, clouds covered me
I had no idea where the way out could be
Then came the sunrise and rolled back the night
Praise the Lord, I saw the light
Just like a blind man I wandered alone
Just like a blind man I wandered alone
Worries and fear I claimed for my own
Then like a blind man who God gave back his sight
Praise the Lord, I saw the light
When death takes me down and I breath here no more
When death takes me down and I breath here no more
My anthem will sound on that eternal shore
When I join with the angels in heaven on high
Singing “Praise the Lord, I saw the light”
I’ve wandered so aimless, life filled with sin
I’ve wandered so aimless, life filled with sin
I wouldn’t let my dear Savior in
Then Jesus came like a stranger in the night
Praise the Lord, I saw the light
I saw the light, I saw the light
No more darkness, no more night
Now I’m so happy, no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord, I saw the light
I’ve walked in darkness, clouds covered me
I’ve walked in darkness, clouds covered me
I had no idea where the way out could be
Then came the sunrise and rolled back the night
Praise the Lord, I saw the light
Just like a blind man I wandered alone
Just like a blind man I wandered alone
Worries and fear I claimed for my own
Then like a blind man who God gave back his sight
Thank you for a wonderful post. We have all walked aimlessly at one time or another. God is awesome, He wants us all to see the Light. Praise God. I am glad I was willing to hear Him when He called. I pray for the ones that don't know Him. We are so rich when we have Him in our life. Riches where there is no end. I love the song. Thanks for the post and I am so glad you and your family and all the other Christians had a wonderful time. Love you and blessings to you.
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord, I saw the Light! That should be our anthem. We were all lost, wandering in sin, but God came to us. Amen!
ReplyDeleteAmen! Praise the Lord, I saw the LIGHT! I am one of those who you may have thought wouldn't, but God knew better... praise HIM!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great song! Sounds like a great evening of praise and worship with friends and family!
ReplyDeleteChristian music was a huge catalyst for my faith journey. It's been an amazing resource to express feelings and emotions about my faith...that are hard to put to words. We've also been to Christian concerts and the energy is amazing! Thank you for sharing your experience!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great opportunity. And I love that David Crowder song!
ReplyDeleteHow awesome! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove,

We went to the WinterJam concert in G'ville SC a few weeks ago and I LOVED THAT SONG! We first heard them do it at Passion, but I never tire of it or the lyrics...
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful event Jenifer! Jonathan and I have tickets to Newsboys & Kutless in April, and he's REALLY excited (It'll be his first concert as well).
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the song lyrics... I see the Light! :-)
Have a Blessed Day!
