Tonight was my oldest son's last baseball game so before his game we met for a team party. At the very beginning of our party, a few of the boys decided to play, of course, baseball. The boy up at bat hit a foul ball. The ball went backwards and straight into the face of one of our teammates. His dad, my husband and I were only about ten feet away and before we could run that ten feet, Collin's eye had already swelled up very large, his nose was bleeding bad and his face was turning purple and red. I have never, ever seen the face turn colors like that nor seen swelling that fast. Ice was immediately put to his face but it was decided that to be on the safe side, he would go to urgent care.
Urgent care immediately sent him to the children's hospital. They thought there would be blood in the sinus cavity or it was shattered. The rest of the team was worried sick.
At the very beginning of the accident, I called my mom and grandparents asking for prayer. I texted my sweet sister, Lisa, asking them to pray at her church's prayer group that was going on right then. Then I posted a prayer request to facebook for all of my prayer warrior friends. And, of course, I was praying. Instantly people all over were praying for a young boy they didn't even know.
About two hours later, Collin's mom texted saying they were leaving the hospital and everything was okay! Nothing was broken! Collin was very sore, but also very upset to have missed his last baseball game. But, praise God, he was okay!
I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, he is okay because of all the prayers that were lifted. Friends, prayer works! Prayer is powerful! Collin easily could have had a shattered sinus cavity or bones or even a broken nose. But nothing was wrong. Like I said before, it looked worse than anything I had seen before. But God is so much bigger.
When you have a need, turn it over to God. Get your church family and friends involved by asking them for prayer. Matthew 18:20 says, "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
When is a time you have seen the power of prayer working?
Sweet Blessings~

ReplyDeleteThere are times I doubt the power of prayer when I seeing nothing happening, this story truly showed me that He always hears and answers our prayers.
Blessings to you Jenifer
This made me cry. God is so amazing! As we were all praying, God was healing. Makes me want to pray even more. What a beautiful testimony of the power of prayer!
ReplyDeleteHi Jenifer. Lovely post. I believe in the power of prayer and can you imagine the testimony to any non-believer watching from the side line?
ReplyDeleteGod bless
Tracy
I want to say I know God is bigger than any problem we might have. Prayer is one of the strongest things we can do for someone and your testimony is proof of it. It is such an honor to be able to pray for someone even if we don't know them, thanks so much for including Papa and me. Thanks to God for hearing our prayers and healing Collin while we were all praying. Am sorry Collin wasn't able to play in the last game but God used him for something much, much more important, showing people what God can and does do so much of the time. All the praise and glory to God.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you, Jenifer and love you.
Thankful all turned out well. Why do we have so much doubt when it comes to Him answering our prayers? Is it because we don't want to be disappointed? We really just don't think He has time for us? Cares for us?
ReplyDeleteI don't know, but I struggle with it for sure. However, He does hear us and does answer us, even if it's not in the way we always choose!
I too know that prayers work. We have had several incidence through raising our children; that I know beyond doubt they were healed through prayer. Thanks, for the thoughts of faith today.

Tracy, oh what a witness it is! For the unbeliever to know we are praying and see the results, how incredible! I know lives were touched and faith was strengthened.
