"At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow on heaven and on earth and under earth and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:10-11
Then afternoon came and something didn't go my way. I wanted to scream. I wanted to cry. Why does everything go wrong!? As I sat there upset, in my heart I head the word Jesus.
My heart I started singing His praises again. Okay, so things didn't go as I had planned. So things are harder than expected. But He is still Jesus. His name is still power.
"Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10
I can still praise God because He is God. I can be still and rest in Him even when things are not as I hoped and planned.
As my day continued, no the circumstances didn't get better, I praised God. I sang how about how sweet His name is and how there is no other name but His. I felt close to Him. I felt wrapped in His loving arms.
Friends, what are you dealing with? What is threatening to pull you down today? What is not going as you planned? Say His name.
Sweet Blessings~

Great reminder to get the day started off right. Thanks for sharing your "sweet blessings."
ReplyDeleteGod is just so stinkin good ;D even when things don't go OUR way they are for sure going HIS way!
ReplyDeleteWow, Jenifer! Sounds like we had similar days. And God spoke the same thing to my heart (although it took me until this morning to realize it). He is still God and worthy of my praise. So I WILL praise Him. This isn't mine to worry about. :)
ReplyDeleteI have those days, what seems like every day, and I have to remind myself over and over that God is God and I am not. He is good, faithful, and victorious! Jesus, what a beautiful name...
ReplyDelete"Say the Name". I love that song! Martha Munizzi sings that so well! When nothing goes my way and I don't know what to do and I can't seem to know His will, then I remember the verse that says "In all things give thanks, for this is the will of God concerning you." I reminded one of my girls of that two days ago, do what we know is the will of God and that is to Give Thanks unto His wonderful Name!!! He never fails, we do, often, but He never fails.
ReplyDeleteLove and hugs, Cindy
Great encouragement, Jenifer. "He is still Jesus."
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer! What an encouragement you are! I came across your blog from your comment left on a guest entry on my friends blog! Thanks for checking out my blog! Yours is beautiful and encouraging! Can't wait to follow along! I'm sure if you checked out my page you noticed that I'm not an avid blogger. I am trying to make it better though, I'm just a little behind the times. If you have any tips or advice on how to improve, please let me know. We want to eventually (over the next 2 years) begin to use it as a resource for our journey to becoming foreign missionaries. I hope to hear from you soon! Thanks again! Lindsay Evatt
ReplyDeleteLindsay, thank you for your kind words. I think your blog is great and look forward to reading from you. But if you ever need any help with anything, feel free to email me! metzgersix@gmail.com. So nice to "meet" you! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteJenifer we all have days like that! I am so thankful we have Jesus and I love saying his name. Such power in his name!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a better day tomorrow! :-)
Blessings,
Cyndi
You share truth here. There are times when all I can do is cry out "Jesus."
