Today I am posting a Marriage Monday over at Woman to Woman Ministries. The winner of The Husband Project is revealed. Join us!
I want to start the week off with a question for you. I also asked this question on our Facebook page the other day. If you were alone and your child happened to come in, what would you want them to stumble in to find you doing? Watching porn? Gossiping? Stealing from someone? Drinking? Or on your knees in prayer for your family?
Our children watch everything we do. Everything.
We cannot blame our parents for our faults. We have the choice and power of God to 'break the chain' of bad or sinful behavior. My husband is proof of this, but that story is for another time. However, generally what we see growing up is what we do. The way you are living now, is this how you want your kids to live? How you want them to treat their spouse? How you want them to treat your grandchildren?
I want to challenge you to think about these things over the next couple of weeks.
I have been counting down the days and in less than two weeks a new movie comes out, Courageous. If you have not yet seen clips of the movie or heard of it, I encourage you check out the link. This movie is bound to change lives. Courageous is a movie that teaches us, men in particular, to stand up and be parents to our children, husbands/wives to our spouses and to live for Christ. Honor begins at home.
In celebration of the movie coming out, I am giving away the Courageous Living Bible Study. This is a four week Bible study with DVD clips from the movie perfect for your personal study or as a group study. I have been extremely excited and prayerful over this movie for many months now, but as I began this study last week, I was amazed. The video clips brought tears to my eyes. I think at one point I stopped breathing! I greatly encourage you to make plans to see this movie, it opens September 30th. You can check out the Bible study here. Pray about hooking up with some friends for accountability and doing this study. You will not regret it!
To win this study all you have to do is comment on each blog post this week. Each comment is an entry. For bonus entries, Facebook and/or Tweet about this giveaway. The winner will be announced on Friday, September 23rd.
Sweet Blessings~

Can't wait to see it. Love this line about not starting strong but finishing strong. God's grace gives us the opportunity to switch directions RIGHT NOW. Love that about HIM!

I have been waiting for this to come out!:) Honor at home...makes being a mama so much harder because you are so right, they do watch and imitate everything we do!:)
ReplyDeleteThe previews make me weep. I am excited to see this movie--not just for me, but for my entire family.
ReplyDeleteBe strong and take courage! Oh, yes!
Wow, Jenifer! That brought tears to my eyes too. I can't wait to see it, and I'm equally excited that I get to see it with you. ;) This Bible study sounds great!
ReplyDeleteThis is a lesson that I am in the thick of! Having a 1 year old I am learning that children are sponges and that for the rest of my life I have someone watching me and looking to me for guidance. It has been hard to absorb this change I am not going to lie. This little guy who used to not even know what I was saying as I tickled his belly now knows my tone and my words. Such a great lesson and something that I need to continue to be aware of and pray on. I am a work in progress though and know I have a long ways to go but right now just being aware is the first step. God will guide me as I guide him through my actions.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see that! I got chills watching the trailer, thanks for sharing it :) I want to check out that bible study too, looks like a good one! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI've seen such wonderful reviews about this movie Jenifer, that I'm very much looking forward to seeing it myself.
ReplyDeleteWe all have the choice in our lives to stand up for what we know to be the right path, and break the chains of our pasts. If we dedicate ourselves to serving the Lord and following His plan, we can make our lives truly what He desires them to be.
Have a Blessed Day!
I can't wait for the movie to come out! Hope to make it opening weekend! I must confess a this point my kids would find me playing Scrabble with Eileen, Lisa, and Phil :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I can't wait to see the movie. :)
