I am facing a situation right now and I desperately want to know the outcome. I don't want to wait. I want to exactly what is going to happen for everyone involved. And, of course, I don't know God's plan for this situation but I know my plan.
"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans for a hope and a future.'" Jeremiah 29:11
Though I don't know what will happen tomorrow, in eight months from now or in five years, I do know that God has a plan. He has a plan for my life, my family's life and my friends' lives. His plans are great. His plans are to prosper us. All we have to do is trust Him.
"Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not unto your own understand but in all your ways submit to Him and He will make your path straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
So, I will wait. I will trust. I will praise.
While I wait on God to see what the outcome is, I will praise Him. While I wait to see what the future holds, I will praise Him.
Whatever you are waiting on God for, praise Him while you wait. Don't take your eyes off of Him. Just worship Him for He is worthy to be praised.

I wish we could know the outcome...well, maybe I don't wish that. If we knew the outcome of the things in our life, it could / would change how we handle it. And that may not be a good thing either.
ReplyDeleteJeremiah 29:11 and Proverbs 3:5-6...cling to those scriptures. God IS in control! No matter the outcome...remember Romans 8:28...ALL things work together for good to those that love God and are called according to His purpose!
When we truly give things to the Lord He will work them out for us. If they don't come out to our liking when we wait we will see why God has allowed things to happen. Praising God during these hard times help us through them and helps us to move closer to God. If we knew what was going to happen and we would try to change them we would probably make a big mess out of it.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you and I love you very much. God is with us always.
Me too, I wish I knew! But, your mom is right and oh, we'd miss so much that He has for us in the waiting! We are all in the waiting when we follow God... waiting for the light to shine on that next step. What a blessing that we wait together :) Great post!
ReplyDeleteThis post was perfect timing for me today. It really spoke to me. Thank you Jenifer!
ReplyDeleteIt is so hard to wait. I know exactly how you are feeling. One thing that has helped me is to journal. Then when I reread my past entries so often i can see God clearer through the rearview mirror and that helps me on my present journey. Glad I found your blog
ReplyDeleteIt is so hard to wait sometimes, but as you reminded up, God always has a plan and His way is best.
ReplyDeleteGreat encouragement to keep trusting and praising.
Many blessings!
Jenifer,
ReplyDeleteThere are times I wish I would know the outcome of a situation, but then there would be no reason for faith and trust. When I have come to the end of a long hard journey and I see the outcome I am glad I did not know what it was. Thank you for writing this Jenifer, so many people struggle with this very issue, it is good to know we are not alone.
Blessings to you.
Yes! There are lots of things I'd like to have a 'crystal ball' for. I know I don't need one... I just have to trust in God.
ReplyDeleteStrangly, my sister was just asking me when she was going to get her magazine :)
I am probably the world's worst at waiting. I am one of those who want God to answer my prayers immediately. But that doesn't (and more often than not) happen immediately.
ReplyDeleteI have to remember that those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength.
Blessings,
Joan
I think we all have a hard time waiting to see what God is doing with any given situation. Learning to trust is an ongoing process.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Sunday.
