Jenifer Metzger : I Am Free!

Today's post is a repost from August 24, 2010. It is something that has been on my heart this week so I wanted to post it once again. Remember that in Him, we are free!

"Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." II Corinthians 3:17
"You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness." Romans 6:18

We all have done something in our life that has caused us guilt. Maybe it was many years ago or maybe just today. But as some point in our life, everyone has experienced guilt. We can feel guilt for a horrible act, or maybe we just didn't follow where God wanted us to go. Guilt can be a powerful thing. If we don't deal with it, it can weigh us down. Sometimes, we deal with it, but turn around and pick it right back up. We can go around acting normal and have a smile on our face but deep down we are a slave to guilt. But if we have confessed our sins to Christ, we are free.
The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 3:17, "Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is FREEDOM." If Christ is living in us His Spirit is in us and there WILL be FREEDOM. When you are dealing with guilt of any kind for any reason, confess your sins and be free. Everytime satan tries to place that guilt back on you, say out loud, "The Spirit of the Lord is in me and I am FREE!

Where the Spirit of the Lord is

There is freedom

Where the Spirit of the Lord is

There is freedom

There is peace, there is love

There is joy (there is joy)

It is for freedom He's set us free

I'm free! (I'm free! I'm free!)

I'm free

We will walk in Your freedom, walk in Your liberty

We will dance in Your freedom, dance in Your liberty

We will jump in Your freedom, jump in Your liberty

Where the Spirit of the Lord is

THERE IS FREEDOM!!

It's so easy to get caught up in things of the past. Worrying about how we could have done things differently. Thank you for the reminder that we are free in Christ! Have a good day!

What a great reminder, Jenifer, that we ARE free, and that we can live that way if we'll let ourselves.

I just had a conversation with a friend Sunday night who was telling me how mature Christians lay their freedoms down for others; yes, we need to do that at times perhaps, BUT we never lay down our freedom from being saved by Christ!
