I Want To Be Aaron And Hur

While the people of Israel were still at Rephidim, the warriors of Amalek attacked them.  Moses commanded Joshua, “Choose some men to go out and fight the army of Amalek for us. Tomorrow, I will stand at the top of the hill, holding the staff of God in my hand.”  So Joshua did what Moses had commanded and fought the army of Amalek. Meanwhile, Moses, Aaron, and Hur climbed to the top of a nearby hill.  As long as Moses held up the staff in his hand, the Israelites had the advantage. But whenever he dropped his hand, the Amalekites gained the advantage.  Moses’ arms soon became so tired he could no longer hold them up. So Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. Then they stood on each side of Moses, holding up his hands. So his hands held steady until sunset.  As a result, Joshua overwhelmed the army of Amalek in battle.  Exodus 17:8-13

This past weekend we went to the funeral of a friend who lost his battle with cancer.

A very dear friend is battling with some news of her health.

My grandfather is battling with news of his health.

A friend who has been praying for her husband's salvation.

I want so deeply to make all of these situations better.  I want Quinton to come back to life here on earth (I do, but no I don't.  I would never wish him to leave the glory of heaven for this world).  I want to make his family okay.  I want to take these health issues away and kill cancer once and for all.  I want my friend's husband to be saved.  I want to make it all right.

Yet, I can't.

But I can be their Aaron and Hur.  I can hold their hands up.  I can lift them in prayer.  I can offer my help when needed.  I can trust in our big and mighty God.

Do you know someone who needs an Aaron and Hur right now?  Can you lift them in prayer?  Offer to help them with something (run errands, make dinner, sit with them to chat, etc)?  Can you send them a card or small token showing them they are not alone?  Pray and ask God to show you who your Moses is and how you can hold their hands high during the battle.

Are you a Moses right now?  Do you need a friend to be your Hur?  Pray and ask God to bring an Aaron into your life.  Ask someone you are close to if they would prayer about staying by your side through your battle.  Ask them to pray for you.

Friend, I would be honored to hold your hands high if you need me.  How can I pray for you?  You may comment below, send me a message on Facebook or email me.

Let's lift one another up.

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down,  one can help the other up.  But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.  Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Sweet Blessings~
