Next Friday, only six days away, there is a movie opening in theaters. God's Not Dead.
College freshman, Josh Wheaton, has his faith challenged by atheist Philosophy professor, Jeffery Radisson. The story unfolds as Wheaton prepares to defend his faith. He has to make choices. Choices to go the easy way, the way every one around him wants him to go, or to stand up for God. Along with the story line of Josh, we see other characters who are faced with faith. Will they believe or not? Will they stand up for what is right or back down?
The movie has twists and turns I surely did not expect. But I was not disappointed. No, instead I was challenged.
Challenged in a big way. I've been a Christian my whole life. I've read through the Bible cover to cover a dozen times at least. I have never doubted the existence or love of my Father for even a second. I strive to live for Him and walk in His truths. No one could ever make me question my faith. But as I watch the stories of the characters unfold, I wonder, could I stand up and fight?
Friends, I cannot encourage you enough to go see this movie. I cannot encourage you enough to take someone with you. Is there a neighbor or co-worker you have been witnessing to? A family member or friend who questions the existence of God? Buy them a movie ticket and take them!
I was challenged, inspired, encouraged and blessed beyond what I can say. This movie will challenge you to the core.
Are you going to see God's Not Dead next weekend? Are you taking anyone with you?
