Each Monday, here in my little space online, I spend time counting my blessings. By doing this, it has taught me much about having a thankful heart and to praise God for all of His sweet blessings, big and small. It has also helped me to grumble and complain less. It's hard to complain when you are praising!
In addition to counting my own blessings, I am learning that I need to teach my kids to count their blessings as well. This is a wonderful habit to instill in children early on.
Really Woolly 12 Little Blessings is a precious book for little ones that teaches them to count blessings in the things around them. Each page talks about things we thank God for, has a beautiful prayer and teaches little ones to count.

My son is grown now, but that was something he was taught to appreciate from day one. He in turn is bringing his children up in the same manner. Wonderful feeling in today's world.
ReplyDeleteBarbara, it is so wonderful that you raised your son to be grateful to God and that he is now raising his children in that way. Praise!

ReplyDeleteI try to look at everything as a blessing of one sort or another. How can we not see God in the wind, the sunshine, the family He blessed us with, etc?
