I have never thought of myself as brave. I am shy and quiet and will do almost anything to avoid conflict of any kind. I don't want to rock the boat and I don't want to draw attention to myself. No, brave is not me.
Once I became a mother, I deeply wanted my children to be brave. How can I possibly teach them to be brave, when bravery is the last thing that describes me!?
The answer is simple: by the Word of God.
I have to dig into His Word and find out who I am in Him. That no matter what happens, how much I mess up or how goofy I look doing it, He still loves and treasures me. No matter what hardship I face, He is there. I can be brave in the Father because He always has my back.
Am I brave now? Not really, but I am getting there. It is something I have to intentionally work on. Am I teaching my kids to be brave? You bet. By guiding them to the Bible and the brave examples God gives us.
Tommy Nelson brings you the brand new book series Brave Girls. Brave Girls celebrates great women in the Bible through Bible stories and the stories of the 5 brave girls; Honor, Hope, Faith, Glory and Gracie. The brave girls share their own strengths and struggles as they learn about Esther, Deborah, Eve, Mary and many more. They learn that through everything, God is with them and will help them.
Brave Girls is suitable for girls 4-12 years old, although my 13 year old is loving it! Your daughter can take the brave girls quiz to see which brave girl she is most like. Click HERE for the quiz. Moms, check out a parent letter HERE from Tommy Mommy.

These look great! Perfect for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of Ruth!
ReplyDeleteJust right for my 4 year old daughter... and my niece who is 12. And likely, encouraging for me, too!
ReplyDeleteEsther. I live by her actions after her uncle spoke to her in 4:14.
ReplyDeleteI always loved Esther's story and sweet spirit.
ReplyDeleteI have tried to model my life after the woman Ruth in the Bible!
