You've probably heard of the newest craze, adult coloring books. {I am not a fan of that name, so let's just call them coloring books for today.} When I first saw these books, I thought it was kind of silly. I wondered who really had time to color and who wanted to! But I figured, to each his own, right?
My kids always loved to color when they were little and when they saw these coloring books, my daughters, 14 and 18 years old, were really interested in trying it out. So we got both of them a coloring book and colored pencils. They can literally spend hours sitting at the kitchen table coloring. Then my son, 13 years old, decided he wanted one. So we found one for him and he's the same. They love sitting there coloring. They like the creativity of choosing different colors, making different patterns and they find it relaxing.
That's what I hear from everyone, it's so relaxing. Relaxing, oh I can definitely do that!
I really enjoy Bible journaling. I see it as an act of worship. I also find it relaxing. So I decided that maybe this big person coloring thing wasn't too different. Why not give it a try?
Coloring is relaxing! And coloring in a coloring book can still be used as a form of worship. While you add your colors in, you can sing praises, pray, recite Scripture or even talk to your kids about God.
I love the new Wonders of Creation Coloring book. Each design is so beautiful. With 96 pages, you will have hours to color and praise.
I used the Crayola Twistables because I love the vibrant colors. But the tips are not too fine so sometimes it's hard to get those small designs. My kids use Crayola colored pencils with erasers and love those. But the pages are thick enough that I think you could use a felt tip marker just fine.
So what about you? Have you ever tried one of these coloring books? Do you enjoy coloring? Share with us!
Today we are giving away a copy of the Wonders of Creation Coloring book. To enter, complete each task in the rafflecopter below.

I don't have a coloring book, but have printed coloring pages. I love it! My daughter has a coloring book and she loves it as well.
ReplyDeleteI love coloring to fill up some time. I can pray or just think about the Lord.
ReplyDeleteI ordered the Erin Condren coloring pencils to work on coloring pages with my ten year old. I relax with a large pot of tea and lay on my recliner in my garden/yard.
ReplyDeleteI do have a couple of coloring books! I think they're so fun! I could own a big stack just because I think they're pretty.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy handlettering, too. And I like to knit and read. And take pictures. And blog and write. And bake! :)
I have three coloring books and recently was given the Inspire Bible for creative journaling as a Birthday gift. The Bible is of course my favorite but its all so fun, relaxing, and an overall excellent hobby.
