HE DID

There is a saying that goes: She believed she could so she did. While the saying is good and inspires some, I've always had a bit of trouble with it.

There are some things that are just out of my power. Some things that I cannot do. As much as I'd like to believe I can, sometimes I just know that I can't. I can't do all things. I am not super human. I am not super natural.

Recently I heard Lara Casey, from Cultivate What Matters, change up the famous saying just a bit. Lara said, "She thought she couldn't, so He did."

We can't do it all. No matter how much we want to believe that in our power we can do anything, the truth is we cannot. But God can. If God is giving you a dream, He can bring it to fruition. If God is leading you somewhere, He has a plan.

I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:13

We are able to do things through God, not on our own. It is His strength in us. It is His power in us. We know that we, on our own, can't, but we can have faith that He can.

When you are struggling to realize the dreams deep inside your heart or accomplish something big or small, remember that regardless of what you can't do, God can do it. Place it in His hands and trust that "He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6
