FOLD YOUR HANDS

I’m a big believer in picking your battles. I haven't always been great at doing it, but I know the importance of it and strive to pick my battles with wisdom. Sometimes we need to fight for what is right. Sometimes we need to agree to disagree. And then sometimes we need to ignore and shut our mouth.

Pick those things that are the most important and fight for those. But remember, you’re really just fighting a real enemy who wants to cause strife and division and death. So the best way to fight the battle is on your knees in prayer. Instead of balling your fists, fold your hands.

Those things that are important but you’re just not getting anywhere, agree to disagree. You don't have to see eye to eye on everything. Everyone has their own thoughts and opinions. You may be one hundred percent right and they are absolutely wrong. But if you aren't getting anywhere, it's okay to agree to disagree and let it go. And as before, fight the real enemy by prayer.

Those things that may be important to you but are really just ridiculous, ignore, scroll past, walk away, and be quiet. You know, those times when people are being ridiculous or saying off the wall stuff. Ignore it. And yet again, fight the real enemy in prayer.

Backing down isn't always easy. In fact, most of the time it is downright hard. But we need to stop and think, is proving you are right, is fighting for whatever it is you are fighting for worth losing it all? What is left to prove if you lose everything? Don't let pride destroy you. Don't let having your way risk it all.

Pride comes before destruction,
and an arrogant spirit before a fall.
Proverbs 16:18

Backing down, being quiet about the situation, walking away is bold. It is courageous. Sometimes, it's just as bold, just as courageous, just as wise to back down as it is to fight. Whatever it is you are facing, first pray about it. Then decide, with God's guidance, is this a situation worth risking it all to fight or should you agree to disagree or should you just ignore it.
