Paul's Promise is set in the peak of the 1960s Civil Rights movement and is the inspiring true story of Paul Holderfield. Holderfield is a former racist firefighter-turned-pastor who started one of the first integrated churches in the American South. This story is a journey to salvation, hope, and healing.

As a praying mother, this movie touched me deeply. Paul Holderfield's mother prayed fervently for the salvation of her son. A prayer I too pray daily.

Paul, a white boy, is turns his back on his best friend, a black boy. Something that always left guilt deep in his heart. Paul's father was an abusive alcoholic. With all of the guilt over his abandonment of his friend and the anger and pain of his father's ways, Paul runs from God. But there is one thing we can never run from, the prayers of the righteous.

and pray for each other so that

As Paul's mom continues to pray for her son on her death bed, Paul soon comes to find the Lord and later becomes a pastor and devotes himself to serving the Lord and people.
