As a parent, one of the hardest stories in the Bible for me to read is the story of Abraham and Isaac. In Genesis 22 we see God tell Abraham to sacrifice his only son, Isaac.
“Take your son,” He said, “your only son Isaac,
whom you love, go to the land of Moriah,
and offer him there as a burnt offering on one
of the mountains I will tell you about.”
Genesis 22:2
Abraham's response is to go. He doesn't argue with God, he doesn't question God. He trusts and obeys. While this story is hard to read, it is also a story where we see faith at work in a powerful way, and we see parallels to the story of Jesus Christ.
This Easter you can watch the story unfold in a new movie, His Only Son. Angel Studios, the studio that brought us The Chosen, His Only Son, the powerful story of Abraham and Isaac.
This is an incredible movie and it releases at a perfect time as we prepare for Easter. Make plans now to take your family to see His Only Son, in theaters March 31st.

You’ve said so little about the actual movie that it sounds as if you don’t like it, really.
ReplyDeleteAmy, thank you for your feedback! I love the movie. I didn't want to give too much away. But yes, it was very good! :)
DeleteI am so thankful that there are still decent movies coming out. There is so much filth on tv that we barely watch anything. Regina tarter95@hotmail.com
