When my kids were little, one of their favorite movies was DreamWorks' Prince of Egypt. We watched this movie on repeat! Of course, the animated movie is an account of the Bible story of Moses. I loved that my kids loved the movie because they were learning from the Bible.
I was thrilled when I heard of the The Prince of Egypt: The Musical! Filmed live at the West End's Dominion Theatre, London, the show features a cast and orchestra of 60 performers, making it one of the biggest musicals ever staged.
We journey through the wonders of Ancient Egypt as Moses and Ramses, raised together as brothers in a kingdom of privilege, find themselves suddenly divided by a secret past. One must rule as Pharaoh, the other must rise up and free his true people; both face a destiny that will change history forever.
The Prince of Egypt: The Musical was so good! It was an accurate telling of the story of Moses, giving us a visual of what we read in Scripture. There are a few creative liberties taken, but it is only to enhance the story telling, it does not change the story from the Bible. In all transparency, there is a scene where we see Tzipporah dancing before the people. While this is very likely the dancing and dress that are accurate to the location and time period, it was a little provocative.
Minus the one scene with Tzipporah, The Prince of Egypt: The Musical was such a wonderful movie! It was so exciting to see the Bible come to life in such a beautiful way.
The Prince of Egypt: The Musical is available to rent or purchase now! For more info, click HERE. This is a wonderful film!
