WEEKLY BLESSINGS {7/15/24}

 This is the day the Lord has made;
let’s rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:4 CSB

I have always had insomnia. It's something that affects me every single night. And every once in awhile, it gets super bad. So bad that for a week or two, if I get an hour of sleep a night, that is good. Yes, it is that bad. I am coming off of two weeks of the super bad insomnia and I am mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausted. Last night was our first night of VBS, and while VBS is always incredibly wonderful, it is also physically draining.

This morning when my alarm went off, I wanted to literally cry. Then this verse in Psalm came to mind. When my kids were little, we used to say this verse every single morning at breakfast. It was a way to remind ourselves that this day is a gift from God. So this morning, instead of crying, I said Psalm 118:24 out loud and pressed on.

Today is a gift. A gift from a God who deeply loves us. No matter if you had a sleepless night or a solid eight hours, no matter if you have a relaxing day ahead of you or your schedule is over packed, no matter what lies ahead, we can be sure that today is the day the Lord has made for us and we can rejoice and be glad in this gift.

What is something you are thanking God for today?
