Little children, let us not love in
word or speech, but in action and in truth.
1 John 3:18 CSB
Last week I shared that my daughter had a major surgery to remove a tumor. Throughout her surgery, hospital stay, and recovery at home, we have had so many kind people reach out through text messages and phone calls. We've also had meals delivered, coffee brought to our door, flowers, and so many offers for help.
At first, I felt bad accepting meals because, after all, I could still cook. But as the meals came in, I realized what a blessing it was. We could spend more time caring for our daughter and doing the things we needed to because we didn't have to worry about meals. Then I remembered years ago when a friend said, "When someone offers to help you, don't rob them of their blessing." The acts of love bless us, but also brings a blessing to the one who is blessing us.
I feel so thankful for every single call, text, meal, coffee, and most of all, every prayer. It has been a great blessing. And I pray blessing over the ones who have blessed us.
What is something you are thanking God for today?
Continuing to count God's sweet blessings...
3770. The deep kindness of so many people through meals, coffee, cards, phone calls, and text messages as my daughter recovers from surgery.
3771. The beautiful trees in our yard turning bright fall colors.
3772. My pastor and his wife, we are grateful for the leadership and friendship.
3773. Watching our church stretch out their arms to pray over our pastor and his wife.
I am thanking God that I feel better today than yesterday.
