Give thanks in everything; for
this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 CSB
We fifty-five days into 2025 and I have spent all fifty-five sick. In fact, I was sick with one thing or another every single month in 2024 too. Dealing with sickness after sickness can be so frustrating, yet, God tells us to give thanks in everything. I may not be thankful for the viruses and infections themselves, but I am so thankful clean water, vitamins, fresh air, my husband taking care of me when I was really sick, help from my kids, prayers of others, and an antibiotic when necessary. There is always something to be thankful for.
This winter has been hard here in the Midwest. We had record low temps, tons of snow and ice, it has been horrible. I don't remember a winter quite this hard in a long time. There was even a week the city was practically shut down due to the weather being so dangerously cold and so much snow being on the roads. The winter was also hard financially because my husband (and so many others) work an outside job. When the weather is bad, there is no work. But I can still be thankful. My family is safe, God provides our needs, and spring is right around the corner. There is always something to be thankful for.
What is something you are thanking God for today?
Continuing to count God's sweet blessings...
